iPhone 17 Pro Max Rumored to Feature 48MP Telephoto Lens

iPhone 17 Pro Max is also expected to come with newer Telephoto lens that will be of 48 MP, as per the words of analyst Jeff Pu. Pu, who writes analysis on Apple’s supply chain via investment in Haitong International Securities based in Hong Kong, posted this in a recent research note on Apple supplier Largan Precision. New Telephoto lens is likely to be given enhancements to support a new Apple Vision Pro headset that may be launching in the U.S. early next year 2024. However, Pu did not describe how the lens is going to connect with the Vision Pro.

At the moment, the iPhone 15 Pro models have a 48-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra wide lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The final version is the one that comes out in the is version 17. 2 These models can record spatial video with 3D depth that can be played back on Vision Pro. In the case of shooting in landscape mode, space scene recognition is automatically enabled by the use of both the main and ultra-wide lenses.

In February, Pu talked about the possibilities of the iPhone 16 Pro models coming with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens; therefore, the new iPhone 17 Pro Max might become the first Apple’s device with the rear camera system fully based on the 48-megapixel lenses. More mega pixels give more details which will help in cropping photographs and when making prints.

The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to be released in September of 2025 and therefore they are still about one point eight years away, and anything can switch before that time from Apple.
